Vanguard U.S. Investment Grade Credit Index Fund

(VANEIGU) Vanguard U.S. Investment Grade Credit Index Fund - USD Acc

About this fund

Fund objectives

  • The Fund employs a passive management – or indexing – investment approach, through physical acquisition of securities, and seeks to track the performance of the Bloomberg Global Aggregate USD Credit Float Adjusted Bond Index (the “Index”).
  • The Index is a market-weighted index of U.S. dollar-denominated Investment grade fixed-income securities with maturities greater than one year and a minimum issue size of USD 300 million, but excluding certain sectors as set out below. The Index includes securities issued by global corporates, securitised, and government-related/supranational entities, but excludes U.S. Treasuries and certain securitised sectors and issues as defined by the Index provider.
  • The Fund attempts to: 1. Track the performance of the Index by investing through physical acquisition in a portfolio of securities that, insofar as possible and practicable, consists of a representative sample of the component securities of the Index. 2. Remain fully invested except in extraordinary market, political or similar conditions where the Fund may temporarily depart from this investment policy to avoid losses.

Please see the fund’s fact sheet and prospectus for important information about risk’s specific to the fund. All investing is subject to risk, which may result in loss of principal. Investments in bond funds are subject to the risk that an issuer will fail to make payments on time, and that bond prices will decline because of rising interest rates or negative perceptions of an issuer's ability to make payments. High-yield bonds generally have medium-and lower-range credit-quality ratings and are therefore subject to a higher level of credit risk than bonds with higher credit-quality ratings. Bonds of companies based in emerging markets are subject to national and regional political and economic risks and to the risk of currency fluctuations. These risks are especially high in emerging markets.
